Ray has been woodworking for a long time; unfortunately not seriously until about 7 years ago when he began taking woodworking classes at Palomar College. Today he is an award winning woodworker who continues to build some serious jewelry boxes, furniture, and misc. stuff. He tosses in a little turning when he needs a quick woodworking fix. His greatest accomplishment is the reproduction "Maloof Rocking Chair".

Maloof Style Rocking Chair

Maloof Rocker Reproduction took him approximately 220 hours to complete. A significant amount of that time was spent researching exactly the dimensions of Sam's latest rocker, building jigs, etc. This piece won Ray one of the San Diego Fine Woodworkers awards presented at the Palomar College Banquet in 2001.

This box was designed for the Zoological Society and donated by Ray and Bonnie to the RITZ fund raiser in 2000.

Semi-truck

Year 2001 brought this design to Ray's jewelry boxes. The knot in the front was inlaid with crushed turquoise. It was finished with 10 coats of lacquer.
